The tea plant is branching with alternate elliptical leaves. The plant, a species of evergeen (camellia sinensis), is valued for its young leaves and leaf buds, from which the tea beverage is produced. Heating the tea leaves stops the oxidation process.

Tea tree can reach up to 15 m (49 ft) in height and can live anywhere between 30 and 50.

The plant can be grown at any altitude. In its wild state, tea grows best in regions which enjoy a warm. Green tea, white tea, red tea, oolong tea, and black tea all come from the leaves of the plant camellia sinensis;the processing that the leaves undergo to make the final tea is different. Tea production, cultivation of the tea plant, usually done in large commercial operations.
